<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire structure for improved a chafer cracking resistance during a run-flat operation. <P>SOLUTION: This structure consists of a chafer reinforcement fabric component arranged on a surface of a chafer in a position contacting with a wheel rim flange during a normal tire operation, and during the uninflated tire operation, in particular. The fabric component is a component fixed by extending it around the bead. The fabric component may replace a toe guard, and the chafer reinforcement fabric component reinforces and protects a bead area by extending the component along a surface of the bead area over the whole areas where a surface of a tire contacts with a wheel rim and the rim flange during the mounting of the tire on a wheel and during the operated condition of the tire. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
