<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming substance and an image forming apparatus capable of realizing the stable image quality of fixed image by solving problems on the consumption of energy, thermal stress exerted on a 2nd image carrier functioning as a recording body holding member and the installation of a cooling stage without causing each failure in terms of low-temperature fixation. <P>SOLUTION: Toner whose softening point or melting point is 50°C to 160°C, whose viscosity at temperature equal to or above the softening point or the melting point and within a fixing temperature range is≥10 [Pa.s] and≤10<SP>6</SP>[Pa.s], and whose volume average particle size is 4μm to 14μm is used as the toner. The modulus of viscoelasticity of the toner becomes within a range suitable for the fixation even when the fixing temperature is lower than that in the conventional manner, and the toner is properly deformed by heating and pressuring, and excellently fixed without causing toner offset and faulty fixation in a wide fixing temperature range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
