<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving method which can realize stable address discharge by suppressing a decease in contrast due to reset discharge or securely performing the reset discharge and erasure discharge without causing any decrease in contrast as a driving method for a plasma display panel. <P>SOLUTION: A first field in which display is made by discharge between each second electrode and one first electrode adjacent to the second electrode and a second field in which display is made by discharge between each second electrode and the other first electrode adjacent to the second electrode are temporally separated, and the first field and second field each have a reset period, an address period, and a maintained discharge period; and a pulse which varies in applied voltage value with time is applied in the reset period to cause discharge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
