<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pixel illuminate with desired luminance and to improve the illumination area rate of each pixel. <P>SOLUTION: A transistor (hereinafter Tr) 10 has its gate electrode connected to a scanning line X<SB>i</SB>and its drain electrode connected to the drain electrode of a Tr12. The drain electrode of the Tr12 is connected to a power line V<SB>i</SB>and the gate electrode of the Tr12 is connected to the source electrode of the Tr10. The source electrode of the Tr12 is connected to the drain electrode of a Tr11 and the anode of an organic EL element E<SB>i</SB>,<SB>j</SB>. The gate electrode of the Tr11 is connected to a scanning line X<SB>i</SB>and the source electrode of the Tr11 is connected to a signal line Y<SB>j</SB>. In a selection period, the Tr's 11, 12, and 13 turn on and a specified current value is written to the Tr11. In a non-selection period, only the Tr12 is on and a current having the current value written to the Tr11 flows to the organic EL element E<SB>i</SB>,<SB>j</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
