PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and circuit for driving a liquid crystal element, etc., which can perform excellent driving and has good display performance and a liquid crystal device as to a multi-line driven liquid crystal device which has a plurality of scanning lines selected at a time. SOLUTION: Virtual electrodes are assumed and ON/OFF states of pixels on the virtual electrodes are so set that the number of mismatches becomes small.
