UNDERWATER CAMERA HAVING VIEWPORT BEARING ON VIEWFINDER TUNNEL OF FRAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved camera capable of directly bearing a part of compression load by a frame not through a cover and a method for using the camera. SOLUTION: An underwater camera includes a frame assembly, which is provided with a frame and a front cover and a rear cover attached to the frame. The frame is provided with a viewfinder tunnel. A pressure housing has an internal cavity part for holding the frame assembly. The pressure housing has 1st and 2nd viewports opposed to each other. Each viewport bears directly on the viewfinder tunnel and is disposed in non-load-hearing relation to the covers. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
