PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image exposure device capable of suppressing stray light rays of a light source which emits a lot of the stray light rays. SOLUTION: A laser light source 211B is made to emit light for a light quantity required for exposure or more, the light quantity of laser beams emitted from the laser light source 211B is limited to be the light quantity required for the exposure by a limiting means 200 provided on the optical path of the laser light source 211B and printing paper 224 is irradiated. For instance, in the case of simply driving the laser light source 211B to be the optical output of 0.05 mW, the optical output of the stray light becomes about 15μW. Besides, when the laser light source 211B is driven to be the optical output of 0.25 mW, the light quantity is limited by the limiting means 200 and 20% of the laser beams reach the printing paper 224, the printing paper 224 is exposed by the optical output of the 0.05 mW. At this time, the stray light rays are limited so that the optical output of about 30μW is the optical output of 6μW by the limiting means 200. Thus, the stray light rays are suppressed.
