Securing Data in a Non-volatile Memory Component

A method and device for securing data in a non-volatile memory component, wherein data is multiply deposited in the memory component and secured by at least one test flag and at least one valid flag. The test flag is correlated with the content of its corresponding data and the valid flag determines which of the multiply deposited data can be read out. The test and valid flags are multiply deposited along with their associated data, and the data read out in a bitwise fashion.
