PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow easy and sure adjustment for verticality between the measurement axis of a height-measuring column and a work surface. SOLUTION: A frame (1) along the measurement axis of a height-measuring column is connected to a base (2) which is disposed on a reference surface that is not shown in a figure. The lower section of the frame (1) is fixed to the base (2) with three fixing screws (7). Two adjusting screws (5) are arranged on both sides of the fixing screw (7) positioned at the apex of an isosceles triangle, along the axis parallel to the bottom of the isosceles triangle, so that the interval between them is almost equal to that between the two fixing screws (7) forming the bottom of the isosceles triangle. The verticality of the frame (1) is precisely adjusted through a chip plate (6) by adjusting clamping of the two adjusting screws. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
