PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a sealed relation between the interior and exterior of a cover cap 2 without using adhesive or sealant, in a hydraulic shock absorber. SOLUTION: The hydraulic shock absorber has a damping force adjustment actuating actuator coupled to an upper end of a control rod 4 passed in the axis center of a piston rod 1, housed in the cover cap 2 with a coupling member 6 such as an eye fixed on an upper end, and connected with lead wires R passed in a through hole in the cover cap. In the through hole 2a in the cover cap, a pipe member 11 is passed for projection outside the cover cap. The pipe member has a guide portion 11b extending in a lead wire outgoing direction for holding the lead wires press-fitted therein, and a flange portion extending in a radial direction. The flange portion is pressed against the cover cap by a bracket mounted on the cover cap. The guide portion is inserted in a corrugated tube TA for guiding the lead wires. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
