PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel injection valve which can be manufactured at a low cost and eliminate an adverse effect of polluting a passage. SOLUTION: A valve seat body 5 has a valve seat surface 6 in cooperation with a valve closing body 4, a swirl disk 35 has a swirl passage 36 having a composition in the tangential direction to generate the swirl, and is located on the upstream side of the valve seat surface 6, and a swirl chamber 37 is formed between the swirl disk 35 and the valve seat body 5. The fuel to be injected is regulated by a throttle at a column side area regulated by the radius (r) and the height (h) of the swirl chamber 37. However, if only one swirl passage is present, the column side area is smaller than the transverse sectional area of the swirl passage, and if a plurality of swirl passages are provided, the column side area is smaller than the total transverse section area of these swirl passages.
