PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and system for collecting gas hydrates by boring, for enhancing the efficiency of collection and transportation by enhancing the handleability of gas hydrates. SOLUTION: The method of digging a hydrate layer H existing within sea ground G to collect gas hydrates into an offshore structure 10 includes digging the hydrate layer H, feeding sea water near the surface of the sea into the hydrate layer H, and raising a mixture of the gas hydrates and the sea water onto the offshore structure 10 as a gas-hydrate slurry.
