PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new method for producing a mixture of an unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and an unsaturated carboxylic acid by which the unsaturated carboxylic acid ester is produced using an unsaturated aldehyde and an alcohol as raw materials and the unsaturated carboxylic acid can simultaneously be obtained during a reaction so that the mixture of the unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and the unsaturated carboxylic acid having a low content of difficult- to-separate by-products can readily be purified into the high-purity unsaturated carboxylic acid ester and unsaturated carboxylic acid. SOLUTION: This method for producing the mixture of the unsaturated carboxylic acid ester with the unsaturated carboxylic acid comprises reacting the unsaturated aldehyde with the alcohol in the presence of a noble metal catalyst and molecular oxygen in the liquid phase.
