The multiple channel receiver uses pulsed laser missions with the pulse time used to calculate a distance. The receiver has an array (2) made of multiple apertures (3) with a photodetector (9) and a switching circuit (10). Each aperture has at least two optical fibers of different lengths (511,543) matching a light travel time. The apertures can be formed as the ends of the fiber.
