<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent ink capable of maintaining high fluorescence intensity, and to provide an ink jet recording method, an ink unit, an ink cartridge and an ink jet recording apparatus using the ink. <P>SOLUTION: The fluorescent ink for ink jet contains a first dye, a second dye and a water-soluble liquid medium for dissolving these dyes. The first dye has an absorption wavelength region and a peak emission wavelength of fluorescence in the visible region, and an absorption wavelength region in the ultraviolet region. The second dye (1) has an absorption wavelength region overlapping with at least part of the absorption wavelength region in the ultraviolet region of the first dye in the ultraviolet region, and (2) has an absorption wavelength region and an emission wavelength region of fluorescence in the visible region, and has the peak emission wavelength of fluorescence of the first dye in the emission wavelength region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
