<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink composition excellent in light fastness, water resistance, quick-drying properties, gloss, and fixing properties without impairing discharge stability and storage stability. <P>SOLUTION: The ink composition at least contains pigment, a resin, a wetting agent and water. The resin is prepared by adjusting pH of an alkali-soluble resin having an acid value of 40 or less with an inorganic alkali. The alkali- soluble resin can be obtained by polymerizing an ethylenically unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer and another monomer copolymerizable therewith in the presence of an alcoholic hydroxy group-containing water-soluble polymeric compound or a copolymerizable surfactant. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
