PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expandable thermoplastic elastomer composition forming a stable foam, and to provide a method for producing the composition. SOLUTION: This expandable thermoplastic elastomer composition comprises (a) 10-90 pts.wt. olefinic resin or rubber having≤140°C melting point or softening point, (b) 9-85 pts.wt. thermally expandable microcapsule expanding at 120-300°C, (c) 1-50 pts.wt. volatile composition [wherein, if (c) is water and/or a water-containing composition, the volatile composition is 1-30 pts.wt.] and (d) 50-99 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin [wherein, the amounts of (a) to (c) components are each defined based on 100 pts.wt. total of (a) to (c) components and the (d) component amount is defined based on 100 pts.wt. total of (a) to (d) components].
