PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a probe for near field optical microscope having a reduced background. SOLUTION: This probe 140 for near field optical microscope is characterized by being equipped with a scattering layer 150 adjacent to the outer surface side of a clad layer 144 of glass fibers, having approximately the same refractive index as that of the clad layer 144, concerning the probe for near field optical microscope using the glass fibers.
