PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector which has good transmission efficiency of light signal and is excellent in manufacturability. SOLUTION: In the optical connector 1, in which a plug connector 3 which retracts the end surface of an optical fiber 21 inwardly from the tip part and an optical transceiver 2 which contains a light emitting and receiving element 15 sending and receiving light signals to and from the optical fiber 21, are connected across transparent resin 17 and a photoconductive member 14 between the end surface of the optical fiber 21 and light emitting and receiving element 15, a spring member 10 which elastically presses the light emitting and receiving element 15, transparent resin 17 and photoconductive member 14, and the end surface of the optical fiber 21 against each other when the plug connector 3 is connected to the optical transceiver 2.
