PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radon reduction apparatus for a water monitor by which a radon content in sample water is reduced and by which the water monitor of satisfactory stability and of high measurement sensitivity is realized. SOLUTION: The radon reduction apparatus is constituted of a storage container 61 in which the sample water is stored and a bubbler 62 which is installed on the inside bottom face of the storage container 61. Air bubbles are sent into the sample water introduced to the storage container 61 by a water introduction pump 1, radon is taken into the air bubbles, and the radon content in the sample water is reduced. The bubbler 62 can be replaced by a pressure jet mechanism, a flow-control device which controls an introduction amount of the sample water is attached, the air bubbles are sent while the water is being supplied continuously, and the radon can be reduced.
