A jig for hanging hinged elements such as doors and windows comprises an upright member 1 to which a cross member 2 is pivotally connected. Three hinge templates (4, 5, 6, figure 1) are adjustably spaced along the upright member 1. Both members 1, 2 are adjustable in length to cater for different sized elements. In use, the jig is first offered up to the element frame and the position of the hinges is marked using the hinge templates (4, 5, 6, figure 1), the cross member 2 is then aligned with the head of the frame, the jig is then removed and offered up to the element marking the corresponding hinge and head positions or element, finally the hinges may be fixed to the element and the element offered to the frame fixing the hinges in the previously marked positions on the fame. |
