PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antireflection hard coat layer having an antireflection layer with high surface hardness and excellent in abrasion resistance, an antireflection hard coat film with the hard coat layer provided on a transparent base material, and an image display device provided with the hard coat layer or the hard coat film.

SOLUTION: In this antireflection hard coat layer having a hard coat layer composed of curable composition cured by the irradiation of an active energy beam and an antireflection layer composed of two layers with different refractive indexes of a high refractive index layer and a low refractive index layer, the low refractive index layer and the high refractive index layer are composed of a layer that is mainly made of a curable resin cured by the irradiation of an active energy beam or a layer that is made from a curable resin cured by the irradiation of an active energy beam and metal-oxide particulates.
