PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a flame-retardant resin composition having excellent mar resistance and tensile properties, a high oxygen index and excellent char formation in combustion. SOLUTION: This flame-retardant resin composition is obtained by compounding 100 parts wt. of a resin component (A) comprising an ethylene/ unsaturated carboxylic acid copolymer which has 0.5-25 wt.% unsaturated carboxylic acid content (a), 0.1-500 g/10 minutes melt flow rate (MFR) at 190°C under 2,160 g load and the value of (a)/MFR of 0.001-50 or its ionomer (A1), or (A1) and another thermoplastic resin (A2) and has (A1)/(A2) (weight ratio) of 10/90-100/0 with 5-300 parts wt. of aluminum hydroxide (B).
