PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fuel additive composition for preventing and controlling engine deposit. SOLUTION: This fuel additive composition comprises (a) a Mannich condensation product produced from (1) a high molecular weight alkyl-substituted hydroxyaromatic compound, (2) an amine represented by the formula and (3) an aldehyde regulated so that the molar ratio of components (1), (2) and (3) is 1:(0.1-2):(0.1-2), (b) poly(oxyalkylene)monool having hydrocarbon terminal, and (c) a carboxylic acid represented by the formula: R4(COOH)yor an acid anhydride thereof.
