A hinge structure for eyeglasses or eyeglass frames comprises two hinge members, the first member being connected to a temple and the second member being a component of the eyeglasses rigidly connected to the lenses. The hinge members are formed of respective lengths of wire, preferably metal wire, at least one of the two hinge members having the form of an eyelet or a coil winding for receiving the second hinge member or a pin connected therewith and providing the hinge connection between the two hinge members of the hinge structure. The hinge structure has an abutment or stop restricting the rotational movement of the first hinge member relative to the second hinge member corresponding to the maximum rotational movement of the temple when positioned approximately perpendicular to the lens. One of the hinge members of the hinge structure is provided with a clamp formed of the wire of the respective hinge structures, said clamp being adapted to lock the second hinge member of the hinge structure so as to interlock the two hinge members of the hinge structure, that the wire forming the clamp has elastic properties allowing the clamp to yield in such a way that the two hinge members of the hinge structure can be separated from each other for replacing either of the two hinge members of the hinge structure or parts of the eyeglasses connected thereto. Additionally og supplementary, the two hinge members of the hinge structure both comprise eyelets or coil windings which either are adapted to interact as coaxially interlocking eyelets or coil windings in the hinge connection, or to interact by means of a pin interlocking the two hinge members in the hinge connection.
