PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material to be recorded by ink jet having excellent lamination strength and resistivity to scratch, and to provide a recorded product having an excellent quality level of a recorded image particularly when the material is recorded by ink jet by using a pigment ink, and a method for using the recorded product.

SOLUTION: The material to be recorded by ink jet comprises an ink acceptive layer containing a silicone surfactant and having a porous structure, in such a manner that a surface tension of the surfactant at 1-mass% aqueous solution at 25°C is 28 mN/m ore less, and an HLB defined by HLB=(molecular weight of hydrophilic group of surfactant/total molecular weight of surfactant)×20 is 6 or more.
