<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phenoxyphosphazene compound which not only can impart properties such as good flame retardancy, heat stability, and moldability to synthetic resins but also can inhibit a synthetic resin from being discolored. <P>SOLUTION: The method for modifying a phenoxyphosphazene compound comprises (1) treating a phenoxyphosphazene compound with at least one adsorbent selected from among activated carbon, silica gel, active alumina, activated clay, a synthetic zeolite, and a polymer adsorbent or (2) reacting it with at least one reactant selected from among a metal/hydogen complex compound, hydrazine, a hypochlorite, a thiosulfate, a dialkyl sulfate, an orthoester, a diazoalkane, a lactone, an alkanesultone, an epoxy compound, and aqueous hydrogen peroxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
