摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve excellent display performance without generating dispersion of a threshold within the same pixel. <P>SOLUTION: In a liquid crystal display device 16, a metal reflection film 3 having functions of both of a reflector and an electrode and an alignment layer 7 are formed on a substrate 1, a color filter 10 is disposed for each pixel on a transparent substrate 2, a black matrix 11 is formed between the respective pixels, an area where the color filter is formed and the area (opening part) 4 where the color filter is not formed are present within one pixel and a transparent resin film 13 is formed so as to turn the level difference of the color filter to be equal to or less than 500 &angst; in the area 4. Then, on a color filter layer 10, an overcoat layer 9, a transparent electrode 8 and the oriented film 7 are successively formed. Then, the transparent electrode 6 and the transparent electrode 8 are stuck together through nematic liquid crystal 12 so as to cross, the cross parts are turned to the pixels and they are arrayed in a matrix shape. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
