DYESTUFF THIN FILM ON HIGH-MOLECULAR SUBSTRATE FOR NONLINEAR OPTICAL ELEMENT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-cost dyestuff thin film on a high-molecular substrate for a nonlinear optical element, having high tertiary nonlinear optical susceptibility and a manufacturing method therefor.

SOLUTION: A low-cost metal phthalocyanine thin film having good translucency, flexibility, and a phase II crystal structure is grown on the high-molecular substrate. The nonlinear optical element having the high tertiary nonlinear optical susceptibility is obtained by control of substrate temperature or corona charge. The nonlinear optical element having the tertiary nonlinear optical susceptibility of 3.5×10-9esu is obtained by a combination of the VOPc of the phase II crystal structure and a PET substrate.
