<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image exposure apparatus which can obtain a full dynamic range with the use of a semiconductor laser for emitting a laser light corresponding to a blue color wavelength. <P>SOLUTION: R-color image data is read out from an image data memory 300R. An AOM 214R is driven by a modulation signal for AOM by a modulation means 310R, and a laser light source 211R for red color inputted into the AOM 214R is indirectly modulated to emit light. G-color image data is read out from an image data memory 302G. The AOM 214G is driven by a modulation signal for AOM by a modulation means 312G, and a laser light source 210G for green color inputted to the AOM 214G is indirectly modulated to emit light. B-color image data is read out from an image data memory 304B. A laser light source 211B is driven through pulse width modulation by a modulation means 315B.
