PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems of a conventional power generation apparatus wherein a position where a sound absorbing material can be arranged is limited because an intake duct is integrally constituted, length of an intake passage is insufficient because the intake passage of the intake duct provided on both side walls of the power generation apparatus is substantially linear, and sound insulation effect against noise generated from the power generation apparatus is insufficient. SOLUTION: In the power generation apparatus 1 provided with a cooling air intake port 8 for cooling a power generation body 12, etc., on a side plate 25 of a case body of the power generation apparatus, an opening part 29a is provided at the other end of the intake duct 40 communicated with the cooling air intake port 8 and is directed toward substantially direction of center of a cooling air suction port of the power generation body 12.
