<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for efficiently decomposing carbon dioxide into harmless compounds. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus is used for decomposing carbon dioxide and taking out carbon, which is equipped with a porous ionization catalyst layer 3 having a function to ionize oxygen, a porous carbon dioxide capture layer 4 comprising a zirconia ceramic material, contacting the ionization catalyst layer 3 and being installed at an opposite side to a first electrode 2, a first supporting body 5 installed to form a space 5a toward the carbon dioxide capture layer 4 for flowing carbon dioxide in, a porous second electrode 6 having a function to ionize hydrogen installed at the other side of an oxygen ion permeation layer 1, and a second supporting body 7 installed to form a space 7a toward the second electrode 6 for flowing hydrogen in. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
