PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a packaging apparatus which prevents a packaged object from deforming and getting damaged during a packaging operation. SOLUTION: When a film is folded by a left folding member and a right folding member, a rear folding member is made to advance toward an object to be packaged to a position in contact with the film. When the film is folded by a front folding member and the rear folding member, the rear folding member is made to advance from an initial position to a position in contact with the object. Further, the rear folding member is made to advance at a higher speed to fold the film, and when the object is raised by a lifter, the object is raised from a first height position to a second height position where a lower surface does not interfere with the front folding member and the rear folding member. In addition, before the front folding member and the rear folding member fold the film, the object is lowered by the lifter to the first height position. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
