PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic imaging system and a method therefor in which the resolution of ultrasonic video can be improved without lowering a frame rate by using simultaneous multiplex transmission convergence technique utilizing a weight orthogonal chirp signal. SOLUTION: A weight orthogonal signal containing N mutually orthogonal codes is provided, the weight orthogonal signal is simultaneously transmitted to N convergence points corresponding to the inside of an object as an ultrasonic transmitting signal, and signals reflected from N convergence points corresponding to the transmitted ultrasonic signal are received. Then, stored N orthogonal codes are extracted from the reflected signals, pulse compression is applied to the respective orthogonal codes, a received converged signal is generated from the pulse compressed signals, the received converged signal is processed, and the processed signal is displayed.
