PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an artificial marble which enables attainment of a molded article of an artificial marble having a large grain pattern, high design properties and increased feels of transparency and a high grade. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the artificial marble, a resin composition obtained by compounding additives such as a filler, an internal release agent and a curing agent in a thermosetting resin is cast into a casting mold and molded and cured to obtain the object. Herein a transparent gelcoat layer 8 is formed on the surface of the casting mold and several kinds of pattern materials 9 of large grains are scattered on the gelcoat layer 8 so as to form a patterned layer.
