PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substantially hard aqueous gel air freshener product containing one or more gel matrix icons for reducing the volume in proportion to the volume of an air freshener body gel matrix upon using the air freshener product in the gel matrix air freshener body. SOLUTION: This substantially hard aqueous transparent gel matrix air freshener product contains one or more gel matrix icons reduced in proportion to the dimensions of the body of the air freshener product whose icon is suspended or embedded upon using the product. This product contains water, gel matrix material which is hydrolyzed protein gel material like gelatin, or polysaccharide gel material like a gellan gum, base compatible air freshener aromatic composition contained in one or more icons and/or contained in gel matrix air freshener body, and a surface active agent contained in the body.
