<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a golf club shaft with light weight and low torque, to improve carry and stability of direction of the ball hit, and to improve shaft strength. <P>SOLUTION: The golf club shaft is fabricated by wrapping a fiber-reinforced pre-preg at least at an angle layer and a straight layer of a mandrel 10, which has sharply tapered part at the tip 10B and modestly tapered part at the butt 10C adjacently. Among the fiber-reinforced pre-pregs in the angle layer, the fiber-reinforced pre-pregs 17 and 18 are provided as an angle reinforcing layer at the tip, the ends of the fiber-reinforced pre-preg 17 and 18 at the butt side 17a and 18a are placed closer to the butt from the boundary point P2 of the sharply tapered part 10B and modestly tapered part 10C, and the distance from the ends of fiber-reinforcing pre-pregs at the butt side 17a and 18a to the boundary point P2 is more than 5% and less than 30% of the whole length of the shaft. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
