PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rocking and opening/closing type bathing apparatus, enabling a bathing person in a bathtub to be bathed in his lying posture, and capable of saving the quantity of hot water stored in the bathtub. SOLUTION: This bathing apparatus has a fixed bathtub 30 whose one side is opened, a rocking bathtub 31 whose opening corresponding to the above opening is connected to the opening of the fixed bathtub 30 to extend the bathtub 30, 31 on the outside of the fixed bathtub 30, and a chair part 12 capable of tilting the bathing person backward according to rocking of the rocking bathtub 31. The rocking bathtub 31 is capable of rocking on a rocking fulcrum 91 disposed near the upper end part of the opening, whereby in bathing, it is connected in the water-tight state to the fixed bathtub 30 to store hot water, and in opening, it can be stored under the fixed bathtub 30.
