<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for measuring a roll profile for performing the measurement of the profile easily and exactly in the state where a rolling roll of a measuring object is left as it is set without removing from a rolling mill. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid standard instrument 3 is provided in the length direction of the roll and also a noncontact displacement gage 4 which travels along the liquid standard instrument 3 and a dial gage 5 which is brought into contact with the roll surface are provided. While moving the displacement gage 4 and the dial gage 5 in the length direction of the roll, the measuring distance from the displacement gage 4 to the liquid standard instrument 3 and the distance to the roll surface by the dial gage 5 over the entire length of the roll and calculating the true height of the roll surface from range difference between the both, the profile of the entire length of the roll is obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO</p> |
