The apartment building comprises a number of apartments (1), each being provided with auxiliary rooms (2), such as storage rooms, where the auxiliary rooms (2) of the individual apartment are in direct connection with the apartment (1) and together constitute a unit (,4) forming a separate fire cell. At least two horizontally arranged units are paced on top of each other, the auxiliary rooms of the first unit being arranged on top of the apartment of the second unit, and the auxiliary rooms of the second unit being arranged underneath the apartment of the first unit. At least one of the units has its own ventilation system, and parking (6) is provided underneath the apartment building. The roof (5) has a recreational area.
