PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum alloy wire for welding which permits stable arc welding and assures the strength in a joint after welding. SOLUTION: The aluminum alloy wire for welding is an aluminum alloy wire for welding containing Fe, Cr and Mn, respectively, in which the summation of the solid-solutionization quantity of the Fe, Cr and Mn is≤0.160 mass% (including 0 mass%), the solid-solutionization quantity of the Fe is≤0.015 mass% (including 0 mass%) and the solid-solutionization quantity of the Cr is≤0.1 mass% (including 0 mass%).
