PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transfer press wherein even the work which cannot be conventionally pressed because the pressing and the work carriage cannot be completed within the cycle time since the height of the pressed work is higher than a predetermined value, becomes processable. SOLUTION: The transfer press has a finger 12 which advances toward the pressed work 50 in an elevating operation, advances below the elevated work 50 to load the work 50 thereon, carries the loaded work 50 to the next pressing step, and repeats the operation of being detached from the carried work 50 and returned to the original pressing step. The finger 12 comprises a body 25, a holding member 26 slidable with respect to the body 25, and a means 34 to press the holding member 26 against the work 50 side, and an abutting unit 26a extending in the vertical direction is formed on the work 50 side of the holding member 26.
