PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a resin layer from scattering as misty particles in a pipe when a plug is welded. SOLUTION: In a method for welding the plug 4 for plugging a through-hole 3 formed on the pipe wall 2 in a metallic piping 1 of which the inner surface is coated with the resin layer 5, after grinding and removing the resin layer around the through-hole with a grinding tool 6 inserted into the pipe through the through-hole, the plug is welded.
