PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coupling device that can be mounted without losing the appearance of a travelling body, has stable coupling, and prevents damage due to direct contact of magnets. SOLUTION: A coupling device 1 comprises a mounting frame 2 that is mounted to the rear or front of travelling bodies A and B, and a magnet holder 11 that is rotatably mounted to the mounting frame 2. The magnet holder 11 has front and back surfaces 12a and 13a that are nearly vertical, a magnet 20 is accommodated inside, and upper and lower sections 16a and 15a at nearly the center of the front and back surfaces 12a and 13a are pivoted by the mounting frame 2. The magnet 20 is formed in nearly a rectangular parallelepiped shape, and is accommodated inside the magnet holder 11 so that an N pole 21 is positioned at the side of the front surface 12a of the magnet holder 11, an S pole 22 is positioned at the side of the back surface 13a of the magnet holder 11.
