PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating acidic wastewater in which heavy metal ions contained are separated as a particle containing heavy metal and removed, to an extent that the treated water causes no problem when discharged outside, and are dehydrated easily. SOLUTION: This method comprises the steps of depositting the particles containing the heavy metal by adding calcium carbonate to the acidic wastewater, raising the particles containing the heavy metal while the acidic wastewater is being neutralized by addition of magnesium oxide and/or magnesium hydroxide, and thereafter separating the particles from the wastewater.
