PARTIAL THICKNESS INCREASING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a partial thickness increasing method of a metal member to allow an excessive material to flow to a required part by pressing the metal member in the thickness direction. SOLUTION: In this partial thickness increasing method, the metal member 10 is partially increased in thickness by pressing the substantially plate-like metal member 10 by using pressing faces 21 and 31 having inclined surfaces 24 and 34 and draft parts 23 and 33. The pressing faces 21 and 31 press the metal member 10 in the thickness direction Z1, and the structure of the metal member 10 is allowed to flow to the draft parts 23 and 33 along the inclined surfaces 24 and 34 by pressing the metal member 10 from edge parts thereof by the inclined surfaces 24 and 34, and the thickness of the metal member 10 is partially increased along the draft parts 23 and 33. The crystalline metal member 10 is reasonably deformed by allowing the structure of the metal member 10 to flow along the slip direction of the grain. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
