PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a peening method for easily setting a peening condition. SOLUTION: In the peening method for forming a metal member in a desired shape by blasting shots against the metal member at a high speed to provide plastic distortion, a forming condition is selected by estimating a formed shape by generating the plastic distortion according to the peening strength in a shot- blasted portion in the metal member by using virtual differential thermal expansion by using a thermo-elastoplastic finite element method.
