<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing foam suitable for a foam roller, having a dense foam diameter, reduced in the thickness irregularity of a foam diameter/foam wall and free from hardness irregularity with high reproducibility. <P>SOLUTION: When a molded object being an unvulcanized non-foamed object is heated, vulcanized and foamed in a vulcanizer 1 using pressurized steam directly, a condensed water during the pressure feed of pressurized steam by a steam supply pipe 6 in the pressurized steam is preliminarily removed from the pressurized steam introduced through a pressure adjusting valve 9 using the condensed water drain means 7 provided on the primary side of the pressure adjusting valve 9. On and after the point of time when the temperature in the vulcanizer reaches a predetermined temperature, the pressurized steam from which condensed water removed into the vulcanizer is introduced through the pressure adjusting valve 9 to be raised in temperature to perform vulcanization/ foaming treatment under a temperature condition of high reproducibility. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
