PURPOSE: A printing apparatus for manufacturing a liquid crystal display and a printing method are provided to reduce a spacer for mounting the printing apparatus and reduce time and cost required for a process. CONSTITUTION: A cliche(24) has grooves(23) equal to patterns to be formed on a substrate. A substrate loading plate(42) attaches the substrate on the cliche level. A vacuum chuck(43) and a heater are formed on the substrate loading plate. If the substrate is put on the substrate loading plate, the vacuum chuck operates to the entire substrate to uniform a degree that the substrate is attached to the substrate loading plate. At the same time, the vacuum chuck fixes the substrate. The heater is provided to easily detach resist filled in the grooves of the cliche from the cliche and transfer the resist to the substrate.
