PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a color filter of a liquid crystal display is provided to simply form cell gap maintaining substances, thereby reducing the manufacturing costs. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of black matrices(202a) are formed on an upper substrate at certain intervals. Color pixels(204a,204b,204c) are formed over the black matrices. A passivation layer(205) is formed on the color pixels. A module is provided, having cell gap maintaining substance spaces of the upper substrate and a lower substrate. A photosensitive resin layer is filled in the module. The upper substrate and the module are bonded with each other and cured to attach the photosensitive resin to the passivation layer for forming cell gap maintaining substances. A cleaning process is executed and a common electrode is formed.
